About Us

Belehris Estates

Belehris Estates is located on the outskirts of Renmark, South Australia, a town approximately 250 kilometres out of Adelaide and situated along the mighty Murray River. The region is the epicentre for the production of world-class wines, quality citrus and stone fruit, in addition to almonds.

Owner and manager Jim Belehris comes from a background of fruit production, working to assist his family with the running of their orchards from an early age, which included selling produce at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane Produce Markets. This experience developed his understanding of customer requirements and he became renowned and respected for his ability to not only meet but exceed expectation with the product he provided.

However, Jim’s aspiration was to further improve the quality of his product, which he could only achieve by being able to oversee and control every element within its growing, processing and packaging. This facilitated his transition to almonds from fruit, with his vision being to provide a calibre of product that was unique and seldom seen in the industry.

vision

Our vision has always been and always will be to produce and supply the most superior product in the marketplace, when it comes to taste, appearance and presentation, without exemption.

mission

To take  the world’s number one nutritional food and produce it in the most healthiest way possible, so whether we are feeding our family or yours we know everyone is eating the very best – as nature intended.

Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple…. We are staunch believers that if you are not doing it right … you are doing it wrong!! And in short, to us there is no grey area.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

Our History

Family owned & Operated

In 2000, the first crop of almonds was harvested and marketed. In the following years, as production and customer demand grew, as did the need for increased volumes of product, which saw another property being developed in 2003.

In 2005, Jim took upon the challenge of growing his own almond trees; a nursery was established in which peach trees were planted, grown and grafted to become almond trees. These trees were all planted on a third property that winter.

Although Jim was satisfied with their acreage of the orchards at this point, he recognised that almond trees have a lifespan of only about 25-30 years. In 2015, with the 20th anniversary of the first crop approaching,

Jim established a replant program. This involves the timely development of new orchards to replace the old ones whilst allowing the 5 years necessary for an almond tree to reach full production capability. This program continued with the development of another orchard in 2017.

Jim Belehris

I was born and raised in Renmark and have been on the land all my life. I am the owner and manager of Belehris Estates. In my early years being involved in citrus and vineyards and transitioning to almond growing in 1996. In 1997, Nina and I were married, and we expanded not only the growing side of the business but the marketing side as well. I love what I do, and this is certainly not a job for me,  but a passion. I look forward to coming to work every day. On the odd occasion where I find some spare time, I enjoy a round of golf – I am not that good at it though, so don’t expect to see me at Augusta!

Nina Belehris

I was born and raised in Loxton – not far from Renmark, on a fruit property . When I married Jim, we worked together to develop our business, and took the role of managing the office, and the packing facility. I enjoy seeing the everyday activities that are involved in our operation, and watching the orchards go through their seasonal stages.  There is never a dull moment, especially at harvest time. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.
